Viehhof

My favourite Munich beer garden is back – the Viehhof Kino in the Schlachthofviertel. They’ve changed things around a little – they no longer have Flammkuchen, but they do have crepes (I don’t recommend the savory cheese tortillas) and they have a BBQ stand – with beef brisket and pulled pork baps. The beer garden’s been open two days, I’ve already had three pulled pork baps.

Check out their program for the films they’re showing, and if you’re more about the football, you can catch the World Cup in the circus tent on the grounds – weather-permitting.

The Viehhof Kino is one of my favourite places to head to on a Munich summer’s evening. They offer a relaxed atmosphere, good beer (Giesinger and Ayinger) and from time to time nearby Substanz will get involved to provide DJs and parties.

To get there, simply take the U-Bahn to Poccistr. and walk along Rupperstr. until you see the Viehhof signs. The 152 bus will also drop you off right outside – Tumblingerstr.
