Palmengarten – Theresienwiese

You could be forgiven for thinking that the Theresienwiese is a barren wasteland at the moment, what with Oktoberfest 2020 having been cancelled. And yes, right now, not a huge amount is going on – even the corona testing centre has closed down. Green City is working to change that though, and has set up a tiny tropical island on the Oktoberfest grounds.

There are palm trees, deckchairs, and tons and tons of sand. It’s a quiet, tropical spot to sit, read, and enjoy the peace.

If you want to support the project, you can do so by donating – or by helping keep the spot clean and tidy. There’s a board by the Palmengarten which lets you know what you can do to maintain the garden throughout the summer.
