Pizza at Villa Dante

I’ve found Munich’s best pizza. It’s at Villa Dante in Neuhausen.

This status as best pizza in Munich (albeit it granted by yours truly) is no small feat for a city thronging with Italians. Villa Dante is located at Westfriedhof, which can be a bit of a pain to get to – but it is right opposite the U-Bahn, so it’s not such a big deal.

They have a lovely beer garden, and when the weather’s good, it can be tricky to find a decent place to sit. The pizza is reasonably priced, humongous and the toppings are superb. They offer seven pizza speciale, one with seafood, another with air-dried beef, another with smoked cheese and shrimps. The quattro formaggi is my favourite.

As the weather’s improving, I thought I’d pass the recommendation on. They do have a large indoor space, but it is wonderful to enjoy the evening sun in their beer garden when the weather’s good. And the clocks go forward this weekend, which means the evenings really are getting longer!
