Gosh, I am horrified at how long it’s been since I wrote anything here. Arts in Munich isn’t dead, but life has been getting in the way recently. We’re in the Sommerloch, but there are still a few exciting events to check out, if you can drag yourself out of a cold bath to actually do anything in this heat.
Practice your painting at The Lovelace on Monday, at their event ArtMasters meets The Lovelace. Paint on canvas with the guidance of teacher Carolin for just €29 (or €37 with supper included). It’s a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills in a relaxed atmosphere – and the price is very reasonable for an evening of art class!
Check out the first of the FEMMES TOTALES films at the Neues Maxim on Thursday. The series celebrates films made by women and are being shown around Germany. Bonjour Paris is on at 7pm in the Neues Maxim.
The Chemical Brothers are at Zenith on Friday. It’s the electronic duo’s sole German show (why, oh why at Munich’s worst venue, acoustically?!) and they are currently working on their ninth studio album.
On Saturday, there’s a nighttime flea market at the Olympiasee. It starts at 3pm, but goes on until just before midnight, and there will be street food stands as well as over 200 market stands. If you’re interested in clearing out your wardrobe and selling a few items yourself, you can register for a stand here.
Also on Saturday, the Crux Summer Jam is on at the Muffatwerk. Hosted by the small club Crux, tickets cost €16 on the door and the party gets underway at 10pm.
And finally, Theatron is on until 19 August, and the full line-up can be viewed online.
