Frau Tonis Parfum is a lovely little boutique parfumerie in Kreuzberg, Berlin. I know, I know – Arts in Munich’s meant to be about Munich places and products, right?
Well, earlier this year, Frau Tonis Parfum launched perfumes dedicated to three German cities – Hamburg, Berlin and Munich.
While Berlin’s perfume smells fresh and lively with hints of bergamot, cedarwood and lemon, Hamburg’s scent is clear, calm and cool, just like the city itself, with mint, sandalwood and iris. Munich’s scent is elegant and classic, with bergamot, white tea and rose petals combined with fresh coriander, amber and musk. Munich’s is the more grown up of the trio, and its elegance is perfect for dinner dates at Kismet or Marais Soir.
The Wall Street Journal has described Frau Tonis Parfum as “Berlin in a bottle” and Vogue has stated that it’s a “Mecca for perfume aficionados”. Pop in next time you’re in Berlin – you can blend your own scents to create your own, very unique perfume, and they also organize snazzy workshops at the Ritz Carlton, where you can sip on cocktails while learning more about the art of creating perfumes.
Frau Tonis Parfum have very kindly offered Arts in Munich readers the chance to win a 50ml of 089 München perfume, worth 65 €! All you have to do is send me an email with your address to win @ artsinmunich.com and I’ll pick a winner at random on July 14.
If you don’t manage to win a bottle, head to Oberpollinger, or shop online here.
