Digital Analog is one of Munich’s most experimental festivals. This Friday and Saturday, the Gasteig will see a melange of theatrical performances, visual art and a whole host of bands covering a spectrum of genres – and the best bit? It’s completely free.
The full program is available here (art direction courtesy of Sven), and here are a few tips from my side:
What You See Is What You Get (Friday, 9:30pm – 10:30pm, Saturday, 10:15pm – 11:15pm)
The Munich theatre collective will bring along a wooden installation for Digital Analog, which will focus on our postmodern, digital world.
Johann Sebastian Bass (Friday, 00:15am – 01:00am)
Donkeyshots (00:30am – 01:15am, Friday)
This Garching band combines Balkan romance with hard rock to create a mad mix of melodies.
Paris XY (9:30pm – 10:15pm, Saturday)
So, I’m really quite excited about Paris XY. The duo have just finished supporting Gus Gus on their European tour, and I cannot wait to catch them live.
Dirty Honkers (midnight – 00:45am, Saturday)
The Israeli, Canadian and French three-piece are now based in Berlin and make fun electroswing music.
Robinn (midnight – 00:45am, Saturday)
Robinn’s just released his debut album on Compost Records (check out this lovely album teaser) and I am super excited about his brooding melodies – he’s definitely one to watch.
Digital Analog 12 starts at 8:30pm tonight in the Gasteig, and continues tomorrow from 8:30pm.
