Gusti Leder

A few months ago, Gusti Leder opened a new store in Türkenstraße. I’ve been a fan of the store for several years – I have a couple of gorgeous leather handbags from them, and I am thrilled that they now have a physical store – alongside their online shop – to visit and browse. As we’re all in Christmas shopping mode, I thought I’d give them a mention – their bags make for the most delightful Christmas gifts.

Gusti Leder places a strong emphasis on transparency. Their company policy available online, but the essence of it is: goods are produced sustainably in India and Italy. The materials needed to produce the bags are gathered locally, reducing transport costs and distances. The leather is dyed using vegetable oils, and small, family businesses are used to produce these bags.

In the Türkenstraße store, you can now learn to make leather bracelets or keyrings using old leather scraps, and you can even engrave leather leftovers with messages – it doesn’t cost a thing.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, sustainably made gift for someone this Christmas, Gusti Leder handbags could be just the thing you’re after.
