Gennaro‘s a gem of an Italian restaurant close to Herzog-Ernst-Platz. Owned by Gennaro Donato, the restaurant itself can sit 180 people – it’s huge – and the decor is very modern. They’ve been open a couple of years now, but Gennaro’s still something of a secret in Munich.
The restaurant’s motto is ‘la vera cucina italiana’, and they offer the classics – vitello tonnato, saltimbocca, calamari, and plenty of pizza and pasta dishes.
I used Deliveroo to order some pasta and pizza from there recently, and enjoyed a very hearty Italian meal. The portions were generous, the pasta al dente and everything piping hot.
