Next Week in Munich – Karate Andi, Impala Ray & Alice in Wonderland

As Christmas approaches, it’s the local artists filling the venues. From Göttingen rappers to Munich indie kids, there’s plenty to discover this week in Munich.

Göttingen’s Karate Andi is playing at the Muffathalle on Monday, after his last planned gig was cancelled a couple of weeks ago. Tickets cost 26 € on the door, but get there early if you want one.

There’s the regular Welcome Cafe at the Kammerspiele on Monday too, welcoming refugees to the city. Head there between 6pm-10pm to enjoy music and speak to people from across the world.

And last but not least, there’s a lovely little Hauskonzerte gig planned for Monday night at cucurucu. Local artist Plateau Green is releasing his debut EP, The Arch of Our Eye’s Orbit, and will play an intimate gig from 8pm onwards. Get down there early if you’re keen on checking it out, cucurucu fills up quickly.

On Thursday, Munich’s Impala Ray is playing at the Muffathalle. Tickets cost 26 € on the door, and there’s an after-party planned.

Check out writer and filmmaker Miranda July’s The First Bad Man at the Kammerspiele on Friday. It’s actually being performed in German – but with English surtitles.

Also on Friday, Alice in Wonderland is on at the Nationaltheater. It’s completely sold-out, but if you have tickets, you’re in for a treat – I saw the ballet a couple of months ago, and it’s a visual treat – such a beautiful set, and the tale is danced with such liveliness and fun.
