Hauskonzerte

I almost didn’t post this, as I quite like it being something of a secret, but it’s too good to keep quiet about.

I first discovered Hauskonzerte around eighteen months ago, when a friend called me to ask if I fancied checking out Alexi Murdoch in a loft in Au:

It was one of the most beautiful concerts I’ve been to. Everyone sat on rugs on the floor, surrounded by dimly lit sixties lamps. The audience is super nice, and everyone hangs around for a beer after the gigs.

Since then, I’ve managed to get to a few more Hauskonzerte shows. Munich band Soki Green played in an atelier near Hauptbahnhof, with Holland’s I am Oak:

Most recently, I headed to Fraunhoferstr., to Ruby, to check out German singer-songwriter Max Prosa:

He has something Bob Dylanesque about him. His lyrics are fantastic (my favourite song of his is Cafe Noir), and the atmosphere’s always so lovely and friendly.

The Hauskonzerte people know music. They’ve invited the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, I am Kloot, Young Chinese Dogs, This is the Arrival, Herman Dune, Wallis Bird, Boy and Junip.

So if you love music, and love intimate, lounge concerts, become a fan of their Facebook page, and keep an eye out for concerts – you have to send an email (and be fast about doing so), and you’ll hear more about the location a day or two before.
