Frameworks Festival

Frameworks Festival 2015

The annual Frameworks Festival is taking place in Einstein Kultur next weekend! Running from March 12-14, 2015, the festival is completely free and celebrates a huge range of musical genres and subcultures.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, with the experimental sounds of Berlin-based duo Driftmachine. They’ll be followed by another German duo, Gut und Irmler, whose music is wonderfully psychedelic. Multimedia artist Thomas Köner will round the evening off.

The music continues on Friday, with Triple Sun, a Slovenian experimental duo from Bratislava. Aisha Devi is next up, and the French composer Colleen (Cecile Schott) will round the night off. She makes the most magical music, and if you’re keen to find out more about her, here’s a lovely interview that she did with The Quietus a couple of years ago.

Half-Mauritian, half-English producer, singer and percussionist Mo Kolours (Joseph Deenmamode) will be performing at the festival on Saturday. He’ll take to the stage at 8pm, and will be followed by Lambert, a masked pianist who has reworked pieces from Jose Gonzalez, Modert, Deichkind and DNKL. Avant-garde Raz Ohara will close the festival, and then the party will move to Kong.

One piece of advice – make sure you arrive early. Over the past few years, the Einstein has had to close its doors early because so many people wanted to check out the bands, so to avoid disappointment, get there well before the show starts.
