From April 30 to May 4, the Stroke Art Fair is taking place at Munich’s Praterinsel. Over the past five years, over 100,000 international visitors have checked out the Stroke Art Fair. It celebrates urban art from young, emerging artists in many forms – with a particular emphasis on digital design. It’s also a lovely place to visit for a Feierabendbier – you can enjoy the sunset, wander amongst the art and ponder what you’re going to buy.
Tickets cost 13 € for the evening or 17 € if you’re planning on visiting over several days. The fair opens on Wednesday, April 30 at 6pm and a Yum Yum party is planned for when the sun goes down. May 1 is a public holiday, so there’s every reason to party on a Wednesday night. If jazz is more your thing, the Dominic J. Marshall trio will be playing at Stroke on Thursday, at 7pm.
Lovely Munich gallery m|u|c|a will also be taking part in the STROKE festival – located next to the live painting section in Box 30. And there’s a particularly interesting exhibition on – the STROKE organizers have handpicked eight young Munich photographers to be a part of the Photographie München exhibition. Among them are fashion photographer Lena Scherer, nature photographer Jürgen Heckel and experimental photographer Laura Zalenga.
