In May, ARTMUC will celebrate its fifth birthday. It’s taking place at both the Isarforum (Deutsches Museum) and the Praterinsel, and will host over 120 artists and 25 galleries/projects from all around Europe.
It started out as a tiny festival in 2014, and has since become one of Bavaria’s largest art festivals, with a particular focus on contemporary art. Ranging from 3D works to traditional paintings, to photography and urban art, the artists originate from over ten European countries.
One of ARTMUC’s aims is to improve the standing of art in the city and raise awareness of the different ateliers around the city. A particular focus this year is on the Atelierhaus Dachauer Straße, currently celebrating its twenty-fifth birthday.
One of the artists presenting their work will be Scottish-born Ronny Cameron, displaying his colourful acrylic canvases. Ukranian photographer Olha Stepanien will show her beautiful black and white photographs, as will Poland’s Roland Okon.
Entrance costs €13 and the festival gets underway at midday on May 10.
