From July 6-11, Munich is celebrating its third Iranian film festival, Cinema Iran. I love Iranian movies, and I’m excited about this festival.
The festival features Kaveh Rostamkhani‘s film Iran: Generation Post-Revolution. Rostamkhani is currently living in Berlin, having studied in both Hanover and Wales. His movie will show at 6pm on July 7 in the Gasteig (entrance is free), and details daily life in modern day Iran.
The second film to show at Cinema Iran is Lantouri, which screened at the Berlinale this year. It’s a drama about retaliation justice, permitted under Islamic Law, and it looks incredible. It’s showing at 8pm and tickets cost 7 €.
