Rachel Moss – Image Consultancy in Munich

Rachel Moss originally hails from sunny Devon, in the UK. She moved to Munich almost five years ago and has worked on establishing her style and image consultancy firm Rachel Moss Image Consultancy. Rachel spent thirteen years working as a model in London – through this experience and by observing others, she learnt the importance of choosing figure-flattering garments.

She says, “My real experience came from being a fashion showroom model where I showed clothing in a wholesale showroom environment to buyers who owned shops and boutiques.

I later became a fashion wholeseller for several years selling to (very often) the same customers I modelled for with shops from the UK, Scotland and Ireland- so I have experience on both sides of the fence as both model and seller”.

Taking what she learnt from her time as a model and a seller – information regarding trends and fittings, for instance, Rachel developed her knowledge and established herself as an image consultant – the likes of Cosmo and Glamour bombard us with articles about finding styles for your figure, but who is really that typical pear shape? Who can say for certain that they’re petite and curvy? Or tall and skinny? Perhaps the likes of Kim Kardashian and Erin Heatherton, but the rest of us are an amalgamation of all these shapes that magazines like to use to categorize women.

And so sometimes we need a helping hand from a real human being, who can take a good look at our shape and personality and suggest clothes to bring out the best in us. Rachel works as a personal shopper, which means you can meet up at Marienplatz for a coffee, chat about what you like to wear, what you’d love to be able to wear but don’t feel confident enough to try, and what you want to achieve from your session with someone who has that know-how when it comes to dressing well.

And Rachel really does know her stuff – she’s written Matchless Magazine’s most popular article: In Praise of the Dirndl – where she offered some handy hints about what style to go for dependent on your body shape (Matchless has published several of Rachel’s articles, use the search function for a list), and she hosts regular events and fashion workshops. I popped to Türkenstr. to check out the Solar fashion show on Saturday, and Rachel was on hand to offer styling tips after the presentation.
