Pâtisserie Amandine

Pâtisserie Amandine in Westend is my new favourite bakery. I lived in Paris as a student, opposite the most wonderful bakery that sold melt-in-the-mouth pain au chocolats. Since being in Germany, I’ve had to make do with dry, chewy Schokocroissants. Je ne l’aime pas.

Thankfully, Pâtisserie Amandine is a short walk from my new appartment in Westend. While their croissants feel like you’re eating a block of butter, they do really good baguettes, indulgent crispy pain au chocolates and heavenly lemon tarts. My French neighbours aren’t fans of the croissants either, but they do concede that the bread’s good.

The bakery can be found in Bergmannstr. 44 (if coming by public transport, the closest stop is the bus stop Bergmannstraße). Do check opening times before heading down there though, they like to take long lunches and aren’t open on Sundays.
