Next Week in Munich – PULS, Paul McCartney & Streetlife

I have been a little lax with posting here recently, but there’s so much going on this week, I just had to write a little update.

There’s an interesting discussion being held in the Münchner Stadtmuseum tomorrow night (if you can bear to head indoors out of this glorious weather). The topic is the purity law, as Germany celebrates 500 years of pure beer. Entrance costs just 3.50 € and if it pricks your ears, it might be worth reading this Guardian article in advance.

Paul McCartney is playing at the Olympiastadion on Friday, and tickets are still available from 76 €. I am so, so tempted to go.

EURO 2016 starts on Friday. Catch it at the lovely Muffathalle beer garden, and watch German games at Munich’s very best beer garden, the Viehhof.

The PULS Festival is running on Friday and Saturday, and the line-up is pretty good this year. Tickets can be bought for 78 € including camping on the official website and the line-up includes Danish singer MØ (I saw her a couple of years ago and she was brilliant), BOY, Crystal Fighters, Schlachthofbronx and Occupanther.

If you’re not at the PULS festival, head to the Giesinger summer festival to enjoy locally brewed beer on both Saturday and Sunday. There’s music, good beer and lovely people.

Just in case your weekend wasn’t full enough, the Klenzestraße annual summer festival is this Saturday, and Green City’s free Streetlife festival is on both Saturday and Sunday. Ideally, head there after you’ve explored the beautiful courtyards in Schwabing at the annual Schawbing Hofflohmarkt, as it’s all close by. This year’s Streetlife will feature the best in local music thanks to the M94.5 stage, and if you haven’t found what you’re looking for at the Schwabing flea market, there’s a FairTrade bazaar at Streetlife.

Hermès are hosting an exhibition in Schloss Nymphenburg’s Orangeriesaal until 22 June, and it gets underway on Sunday. The travelling exhibition features images of wild cats by little-known artist Roger Dallet, and there’s a nice little write-up in Vogue about it.

Have a great week, folks!
