I found out about this band at Galerie KULLUKU‘s Iranian film festival a few weeks ago, and I loved the infectious energy of them – if you like Gogol Bordello, you’ll love Kiosk. They’re playing the Schloss Theaterzelt (Tram 12, Infanteriestr.) tonight, and if you’re looking for something to do, I can wholly recommend them:

Tomorrow sees New York’s Adam Green teaming up with Californian Binki Shapiro at Strom, at Poccistr. It kicks off at 21:30 and tickets cost 20 €. They are so cute together, and their music has a warm, gooey, sixties feel to it:
Tuesday also sees the start of a new exhibition at the Eine Welt Haus, entitled “Wovon Menschen leben”. Sixteen portraits will be displayed, focusing on people’s social contexts and what people do to preserve their local environments. Entrance is free, and the exhibition will run until May 5.
On Wednesday, Eurovision Song Contest winner Lena Meyer Landrut (now calling herself by her first name only) is playing at the Theaterfabrik. I can’t stand her, but there are plenty of people who find her adorable, so if you’re interested, tickets are available for 31 €.
Kasabian are also in town on Wednesday – playing at Backstage Werk.
Perhaps the best concert of the week (apart from Kiosk) is Oy (aka Joy Frempong), half-Ghanese, half-Swiss, playing the Atomic Cafe on Thursday. Her songs are irresistably catchy:
Cult garage rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are back in Munich on Friday, playing the Muffathalle, to promote their seventh album – Specter at the Feast, which was released on March 19.
Super fun Munich band Der Englische Garten are playing the lovely Milla club Friday. It’s the perfect music to step into spring to, we just need the appropriate weather!
Canadian indie folk band Evening Hymns are at the Atomic Cafe on Saturday – their music is so beautifully serene and peaceful, it’s perhaps not the best gig to head to before a wild party on Saturday night, but if you’re after a gentle evening, go. Support is from the equally lovely Der Herr Polaris.
On Sunday, director Marcus Rosenmüller (Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot) is reading poetry at Milla, accompanied by his componist, Gerd Baumann. Tickets cost 12 € on the door, 10 € in advance.
