Stroke Art Fair - Munich 2015

STROKE / Munich 2015

Now in its sixth year, STROKE is taking place again over the upcoming long weekend at the Praterinsel.

STROKE kicks off tonight with a party at the Praterinsel, hosted by Red Bull Cola. Nessi will be playing live and unplugged (as of 8pm, though entrance is from 7pm) and the ticket (including entrance to the art fair) costs 13 €.

Tomorrow, the official STROKE opening party is taking place, starting at 10pm. Four DJs will take to the decks, including Berlin’s DJ Craft (K.I.Z.) and Hamburg’s DJ Dynamite (of Dynamite Deluxe). Entrance costs 10 € and as Friday’s a bank holiday, you can party into the small hours.

The closing party is on Saturday, and the organizers have a packed program for the evening. More information is available here.

If you’re more about the art, you can check out the fair from 12pm tomorrow (12pm-10pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 12pm-6pm on Sunday). Over 20,000 people are expected to head to the Praterinsel over the next few days, and last year there were pretty long queues to get in – so get there early to grab a ticket (13 € on the door, or 17 € for entrance over the course of the fair).

Most of the exhibitors are from Germany, though a few are international (the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and Switzerland, for instance). Munich’s Electric Artcube are showing works at the event, as are Triptych and Bavarian Waste Management. From a little further afield, I’m super keen to check out Amsterdam’s Stick Together Gallery and Switzerland’s SOON.
