Culture Oktoberfest

NXWS

The Urbanauten, the team that develops projects for public spaces in Munich, are back with a brand new, pretty cool project at Schwanthalerhöhe. They’re responsible for the Kulturstrand, Corso Leopold, and Play Me I’m Yours (the distribution of pianos around the city, to be played by anybody), and now they’ve set up a pop-up space in the old Hacker-Pschorr brewery, the Trattoria Bella Birreria and a sports bar.

It’s called NXWS (next Wiesn) and it’s HUGE – it can hold 1,300 people. Its location means it’s a prime spot for after-Wiesn drinks, and the Wiesn bands have been organized by Bavarian actress/singer Kathrin Anna Stahl. The music won’t be your usual Helene Fischer post-Wiesn hits – instead, live bands (some from the Oide Wiesn) will play alongside Munich DJs such as Mirko Hecktor and DJs from Munich radio station M94,5. Hungry post-Wiesn punters need not fear – fresh pizzas will be provided by Pizza Innovazione.

The Urbanauten have been given the space to use until at least the end of May 2018, so expect a lot more cool events from them over the next few months.

Location: Theresienhöhe 7 (U-Bahn Theresienwiese/Schwanthalerhöhe), daily from 12pm
